  • Market in Portimao: 1st Monday of each month at the Parque de Feiras e Exposiç&0acute;es de Portimão (except August and November)
  • Flea market in Portimão: 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at the Parque de Feiras e Exposiç&0acute;es -08.00h to 12.30h
  • Flea market in Estombar: last Saturday of the month at the Parque de Feiras e Exposiç&0acute;es(Fairs and exhibitions park)
  • Flea market in Lagoa: 4th Sunday of the month in the grounds of the Fatacil
  • Flea market in Ferragudo: 2nd Sunday of the month - 08.00h to 13.00h (except August)
  • Market in Lagoa: 2nd Sunday of the month in front of the Fatacil. (except August)
  • Market in Lagos: 1st Saturday of the month on the ground by the Estádio Municipal (Municipal stadium)

Markets

  • New Years Eve is a big celebration in Portimão with live bands and dancing on the river front, stalls for drinks and food and a fantastic fireworks display at midnight to celebrate the New Year.
  • Portimão annual Sardine Festival takes place in August (around the 2nd week) and is a hugely popular affair with live music every night and fireworks.
  • Portimão Air Festival begins at the start of may.

Summer months

In July and August Albufeira hosts sports events on all of its beaches including volleyball, windsurfing, wakeboarding and diving.

July hosts the Festa do Frango no Churrasco, which is a festival, dedicated to the delicacy of Albufeira where for 3 days you will be tempted by the aromas of barbecued chicken.

July also sees the Feira de Artesanato de Albufeira which is a sale of traditional crafts such as mats, beaten copper and woven baskets. This festival takes place over 9 days and also includes various musical events.

August hosts the Festa de Nossa Senhora da Guia in Guia.

August sees the Sardine Festival in Olhos de Àgua. An event where the smell of another of Portugal’s delicious delicacy’s will be inescapable over 4 days.

August also sees a folklore festival named Olhos de Água.

August 14th is the Festa da Nossa Senhora da Orada (the festival of Our Lady of the Oracle) who is the patron saint of Albufeira fishermen. Her remains still lay in the Castillo del Mar.

August 20th is Albufeira’s municipal holiday. The town celebrates with many sports events and entertainment, including fireworks in the evening

September 3rd is the Festa do Beato Vicente.

September 27th is World Tourism Day and Albufeira offers various entertainments for everyone including shows and musical events.

September also hosts the 2 day Fisherman festival (Festa do pescador) which is celebrated at Praia dos Pescadores.

October the first Sunday in October is the Festa de Nossa Senhora da Esperança which is a celebration of the patron saint of Paderne.

October 8th is the Feira da Guia, which is traditional fair selling clothes, jewellery and Albufeira’s traditional exports such as porcelain.
