Beaches in Paphos
With its fantastic scenery and clear blue seas, Paphos, located on the Western coast of Cyprus has to be one of the most attractive beach holiday destinations in Europe.
Property is available for rent or to buy overlooking many of the spectacular beaches and is available in the form of luxury beachside apartments, villa’s with stunning sea views or townhouses, located only a short distance from the sea. There are a remarkable six Blue Flag beaches in Pathos. These are Pachyammos, Alykes, Municipal Bath, Vrysoudia A and B and Farros. All of these beaches offer a variety of water sports, including fishing, parasailing, jet skiing and snorkelling. There are also several diving schools in the vicinity that offer both excellent instruction and equipment for rent. If you’re looking for a quieter option however, Farros would be the better choice.
In addition to snatched stretches of often pebbly beach located next to the waterfront hotels of Kato Paphos, the resort also boasts the centrally located and sandy Municipal Beach. With miles of golden sand spread across the length of Paphos, you will find crystal clear waters and beaches that have been recognized as ‘Blue Flag Beaches’ by the EU. Blue Flag award is an honour and means that these beaches have met some very stringent criteria which include management, safety, and quality of the water. When you see a beach with a Blue Flag it means that the beach will result in a plesant visit and you can let your children play without having to worry too much. Another blue flag winner is Coral Bay, a lovely sand beach 13km (8 miles) north of Paphos that is easily accessible by bus. Paphos beaches are great for sun-seekers, beach lovers, water sports enthusiasts, divers, walkers, and everyone in between.
