Beaches in Carvoeiro
Carvoeiro Town Beach
Next to a cliff on which harmoniously stand small white fishermen’s’ houses, Carvoeiro Beach is an attractive and picturesque landmark of the Algarve. Its limited extent of sand is highly popular with bathers who take up positions next to fishing vessels that are available for excursions out along the coast exploring the wonderful nearby grottoes and caverns.
Right by the beach, there is a broad range of restaurants, bars and terraces providing the link between the sands and the lively town of Carvoeiro.
Vale de Centianes
A popular beach but with limited parking, well worth a visit. Access to the beach has recently been repaired after a large rock fall. There is a beach restaurant and bar on the beach.
Carvalho beach
This beach is also known as "smugglers cove" and is reached from the car park at Club Atlantico. Access is down a long flight of steps and a tunnel. It can also be reached from Benagil.
Benagil Beach
This a lovely beach which is a lot bigger than it would seem from the road. Parking is on the road with a very steep hairpin bend and then on foot past the fishing boats. There are several good restaurants in the village and often there is live entertainment on the beach during the long summer evenings.
Marinha Beach
Voted one of the top ten beaches in Europe. Car parking is on the cliffs above the beach which offers some breathtaking views of the beach and the rocks. Access to the beach is via steps cut through the cliff. There is a beach bar open during the summer months.
Paraiso Beach This is the first beach west out of Carvoeiro heading towards Ferragudo on the coast road. Access to the beach is via a long flight of steps down the cliff. Caneiros This lovely little beach is at the end of a cul de sac where you can park by the roadside. Access to the beach is through the cliffs. There is a beach bar, restaurant and a small shop selling fruit, snacks and drinks.
