Beaches in Ayia Napa



Macronissos Beach is formed by 3 bays that run into each other. Just a little way away from the city, this picturesque beach has been used as the backdrop for MTV beach shows, but if you catch it on a normal day it is a beautiful place to relax or spend time with your family. The three bays stretch out in different directions, one to the west, the second to the southwest whereas the third one stretches in a south-easterly direction resulting in well sheltered Cyprus beach areas.

Nissi Beach is a beautiful beach that was one of the first to catch on and attract tourists to the Aiya Napa region. Four km to the east of Aiya Napa is Limnara Beach, a beautiful, but small beach that is very well-protected from the elements, making it a great place to go if it is very windy. Only three kilometers west of Agia Napa. These closely connected twin beaches attract thousands of tourists on their Cyprus holidays every year. Nissi, which in Greek means a small island, gives a new dimension to the beauty of the landscape. It is well sheltered from the wind and facilitates all sea sports. There are also cafes, pubs and restaurants in the area.

Sandy Bay Sandy Bay Beach is found 400 yards or so east of Nissi Bay, Cyprus. The beach is also fully protected from winds. Facilities for sea sports are provided for and as is the coast with most beaches, catering facilities are also offered.

Vathia Gonia Vathia Gonia is found 400 yards east of Nissi Bay. The beach is also fully protected from winds. Sea sport facilities are provided.

Grecian Bay is the closest beach to Aiya Napa's downtown, its a great place to hang out, and can often be less crowded than the other two better known beaches.

Agia Thekla Situated six kilometres west of Agia Napa is petite Agia Thekla. It has a small island within its grasp and is within walking distance from the main road taking you to Agia Napa. It has taken its name from a tiny old church in that area bearing the same name.

Landa Beach A 300 meters long beach is found in the middle of Makronisos beach and Nissi Bay - only 500 meters away from each beach.

Pernera Beach This beach stretches up to 200 meters long and is located in between the beaches of Vathia Gonia and Katsarka. Although little shade, it has got fine sand and shallow water. There are five restaurants around the beach. Diving is good here, provided by diving centre.

Katsarka Beach A rocky beach 800 meters long, situated about 500 meters west of the fishing harbour, just before the Pernera Beach.

Pantahou This Cyprus beach stretches from the fishing harbour of Agia Napa for more than a kilometer and follows on easterly direction. Thousands of tourists visit it every year. Facilities for all sea sports are provided for and cafes, snack bars and restaurants abound in the area. The fishing harbour of Agia Napa with its small colorful boats adds character to the view and is a happy reminder of Cyprus history.

Kryo Nero Beach This beach stretches from the fishing harbor of Agia Napa for more than a kilometer and follows an easterly direction. Thousands of tourists visit it every year for their Cyprus holidays.

Facilities for all sea sports are provided for and cafes, snack bars and restaurants abound in the area. The fishing harbor of Agia Napa with its small colorful boats adds character to the view and is a happy reminder of the past.

Palaces In between Limnara Beach and Cape Greco stand the Palaces. They do not constitute any particular structure but instead are named for the admirable formations on the rocks. The rocky beach has been sculptured by the sea waves which give the impression of being a fine work of architecture. The reflected light together with the crystal waters form a dreamy picture. This site can only be reached by boat.

Limnara Be

ach About four kilometres east of Agia Napa the visitor comes to Limnara Beach. Though small it is one of the loveliest beaches in Cyprus, and is well-protected from the wind.

Konnos Beach This wonderful sandy strip of beach is situated two kilometres east of Agia Napa on the road between Cape Greco and Protaras. It's one of the most picturesque beaches in Cyprus, well sheltered from the prevailing winds. You can try plenty of water sports, among which ski tow, parachute ride or you can hire a jet ski.

Kermia Situated two kilometers east of Agia Napa on the main road leading to the Cape Greco, Kermia Beach is located on the west side of Cape Greco. It is private and remote.

Cape Greco is a 10 minute drive from the centre of Ayia Napa, and is considered one of the most beautiful places on the island offering site seeing, cliff jumping and a variety of other activities. In Cape Greco many locals claim that there exists the Ayia Napa Sea Monster reported to resemble a cross between a porpoise and dragon. There have been only a dozen or so reported sightings and photographs. Some suggest that it is a direct descendent from pre-historic times
